Are you sure you know Obama? Obama is not the America’s Messiah you think he is!!

Ken Blackwell – Columnist for the New York Sun

It’s an amazing time to be alive in America. We’re in a year of firsts in this presidential election: the first viable woman candidate; the first viable African-American candidate; and, a candidate who is the first front-running freedom fighter over 70. The next president of America will be a first.

We won’t truly be in an election of firsts, however, until we judge every candidate by where they stand. We won’t arrive where we should be until we no longer talk about skin color or gender.     Now that Barack Obama steps to the front of the Democratic field, we need to stop talking about his race, and start talking about his policies and his politics.

The reality is this: Though the Democrats will not have a nominee until August, unless Hillary Clinton drops out, Mr. Obama is now the frontrunner, and its time America takes a closer and deeper look at him.

Some pundits are calling him the next John F. Kennedy. He’s not. He’s the next George McGovern. And it’s time people learned the facts.

Because the truth is that Mr. Obama is the single most liberal senator in the entire U.S. Senate. He is more liberal than Ted Kennedy, Bernie Sanders, or Mrs. Clinton.    Never in my life have I seen a presidential frontrunner whose rhetoric is so far removed from his record. Walter Mondale promised to raise our taxes, and he lost. George McGovern promised military weakness, and he lost. Michael Dukakis promised a liberal domestic agenda, and he lost.

Yet Mr. Obama is promising all those things, and he’s not behind in the polls. Why? Because the press has dealt with him as if he were in a beauty pageant.    Mr. Obama talks about getting past party, getting past red and blue, to lead the United States of America. But let’s look at the more defined strokes of who he is underneath this superficial “beauty.”

Start with national security, since the president’s most important duties are as commander-in-chief. Over the summer, Mr. Obama talked about invading Pakistan, a nation armed with nuclear weapons; meeting without preconditions with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who vows to destroy Israel and create another Holocaust; and Kim Jong II, who is murdering and starving his people, but emphasized that the nuclear option was off the table against terrorists – something no president has ever taken off the table since we created nuclear weapons in the 1940s. Even Democrats who have worked in national security condemned all of those remarks. Mr. Obama is a foreign-policy novice who would put our national security at risk.

Next, consider economic policy. For all its faults, our health care system is the strongest in the world. And free trade agreements, created by Bill Clinton as well as President Bush, have made more goods more affordable so that even people of modest means can live a life that no one imagined a generation ago. Yet Mr. Obama promises to raise taxes on “the rich.” How to fix Social Security? Raise taxes. How to fix Medicare? Raise taxes. Prescription drugs? Raise taxes. Free college? Raise taxes. Socialize medicine? Raise taxes. His solution to everything is to have government take it over. Big Brother on steroids, funded by your paycheck.

Finally, look at the social issues. Mr. Obama had the audacity to open a stadium rally by saying, “All praise and glory to God!” but says that Christian leaders speaking for life and marriage have “hijacked” – hijacked – Christianity. He is pro-partial birth abortion, and promises to appoint Supreme Court justices who will rule any restriction on it unconstitutional. He espouses the abortion views of Margaret Sanger, one of the early advocates of racial cleansing. His spiritual leaders endorse homosexual marriage, and he is moving in that direction. In Illinois, he refused to vote against a statewide ban – ban – on al l handguns in the state. These are radical left, Hollywood, and San Francis co values, not Middle America values.

The real Mr. Obama is an easy target for the general election. Mrs. Clinton is a far tougher opponent. But Mr. Obama could win if people don’t start looking behind his veneer and flowery speeches. His vision of “bringing America together” means saying that those who disagree with his agenda for America are hijackers or warmongers. Uniting the country means adopting his liberal agenda and abandoning any conflicting beliefs.

But right now everyone is talking about how eloquent of a speaker he is and – yes – they’re talking about his race. Those should never be the factors on which we base our choice for president. Mr. Obama’s radical agenda sets him far outside the American mainstream, to the left of Mrs. Clinton.

It’s time to talk about the real Barack Obama. In an election of firsts, let’s first make sure we elect the person who is qualified to be our president in a nuclear age during a global civilizational war.

What about taking a real look at President Bush, afterall, he is the worst president ever in the history of foreign policy.

Leave Barack Obama alone!!! He is the embodiment of the 21st century and he is the change we need from Bush/Clinton/Bush-Mccain?Clinton.

One heart, one vote for Barack Obama.

A friend of mine recently sent me her response to her family after she received this misinformation in the form of an email.

Thanks for sharing this email with me. There are a several things that strike me as odd in this forward.

First, the author – Ken Blackwell – is a lawyer who has worked in conservative republican politics for many years. This email was originally posted in Townhall.com – which is a gathering of conservative talk show hosts. So, basically, this man was already a republican who was paid to write this article.

I’m reading a bunch about him now on Wikipedia.com (this is the online version of an encyclopedia – it is well balanced and not political), and there are several reasons why I don’t think Ken Blackwell is a very trustworthy man. I’d be happy to go into detail if you are interested.

Mr. Blackwell spends alot of time calling Obama liberal, but these are his only factual accusations:

“Mr. Obama talked about invading Pakistan, a nation armed with nuclear weapons”

-Yes, Obama said on record that he would be willing to strike Al Quaeda targets within Pakistan.

“meeting without preconditions with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who vows to destroy Israel and create another Holocaust; and Kim Jong II, who is murdering and starving his people,”

-Yes, Obama said he would be willing to have a discussion with these people, something President Bush refuses to do. I think at least talking to these people is a positive first step.

-Mr. Blackwell then mentions Obama would take nuclear weapons “off the table” as if Obama was not concerned about this issue. Here are a few paragraphs from Obama’s website on his view on nuclear weapons:

    http://www.barackobama.com/issues/foreignpolicy/#nuclear

“…free trade agreements, created by Bill Clinton as well as President Bush, have made more goods more affordable so that even people of modest means can live a life that no one imagined a generation ago. Yet Mr. Obama promises to raise taxes on “the rich.” How to fix Social Security? Raise taxes. How to fix Medicare? Raise taxes. Prescription drugs? Raise taxes. Free college? Raise taxes. Socialize medicine? Raise taxes.”

-Actually, Obama and Clinton want to cut taxes for the middle class, which (opinion differs) is usually individuals making less than $100,000 a year. So this is a blatant lie.

-Obama says, on his website, he “will fight for a trade policy that opens up foreign markets to support good American jobs.”

“He is pro-partial birth abortion, and promises to appoint Supreme Court justices who will rule any restriction on it unconstitutional.”

-This is what Obama actually says about abortion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCifpbfQlOM

“His spiritual leaders endorse homosexual marriage”

-Mr. Blackwell fails to mention who his spiritual leaders are, nor what Mr. Obama’s personal feelings are.

“In Illinois, he refused to vote against a statewide ban on all handguns in the state.”

-Doesn’t this mean he didn’t vote FOR it?

As for the last person’s paragraph, trying to assign Obama to the position of the Antichrist, that’s just the most horrible kind of slander. The John’s book of Revelation uses much mysterious language, but the word “anti-christ” actually NEVER appears in Revelation.

In 2 John 1:7, he says, “Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.” It is quite obvious here that anyone who worships Jesus honestly cannot be the antichrist. Also in this letter, John mentions the “spirit of the antichrist” being in anyone who does not believe.”

I just watched Obama’s response to the things his pastor said over the weekend, and I hope you will watch this video if you have not seen his speech. It’s over 30 minutes long, but he says many powerful things that make me think our country can be a better nation.

Susan, your exaggeration only works on a generation that doesn’t know any better. The vietnam war was about 11x worse in its death toll and anti way sentiment at the time was far more passionate.

As far as worst foreign policy president, that would have to go to Jimmy Carter.

Barak Obama is a walking, talking lie. He is a Marxist by record and is hiding behind his poster image. His balloon is not deflating and will come crashing down by November.

At least we had a reason for going into war at Vietnam, what reason did we have going into Iraq?

George Bush and his crew lied to the America people and 4,000 brave men and women have died and yet Dick Cheney said ‘SO’?

l cannot even begin to imagine Iraqs that have lost lives and children that have become parentless and homeless.

And you Fr .J tells me l’m exaggerating, you better think of our soldiers and what they have gone through, for what?

At least Barack Obama opposed this war from the beginning and he will be a better president than George Bush or even Clinton.

As a veteran, I joined the military to protect my family and country for hostiles. I was fully willing to to lay down my life. Terrorism is a real threat to America and if it is not fought on foriegn soil it will be fought in America.

I work with many Iraqi’s who disagree with you. They have lived in fear when they lived in Iraq. All still remember the horrific memories. America entering into Iraq was the humane thing to do. It should have happened in 1991 during Operation Desert Storm.

Barack Obama will bring 65% taxes to pay for health care, education and medicare. He hasn’t mentioned how he is going to pay for all these program. Lets call him for what he is…a socialist.

Socialism comes with a very high price.

beartracks, Thank you for your comment and especially for your service. As an Army brat, I would never presume to speak for veterans, so it is important that you speak out.

Obama is a Marxist who wants to take the largest industry in America with 11% of GDP and put it under the government. What a disaster that would be.

If we are doing so poor a job with healthcare for the military how are we going to provide it to the entire nation?

And remember, Obama has said his solution to Iraq wont be much different from Bush’s. All his promises are empty. He is in the snake oil business.

There are lots of emotions that Obama arouses, but they are false. We have to be rational about this and the only solution I can see is McCain.

W is the WORST president the American people have ever seen. 4000 soldiers lost and he still wants to fight a war when Americans struggle with 3.20 gasoline and staggering food prices. He is totally out of touch with the American people. His work he carried out in Chicago was tremendous. He could have been a corporate lawyer paid millions but instead went to fight for the poor. I am dissappointed by a writer who writes such statements. Government has to be for the masses. Not in food stamps unemployment which keeps poor people barely breathing, but Government which enacts policies that are for American. Spends money in America. Rebuilds jobs and cities in America. Some of you call that Marxism or socialist. If that will bring American back to reasonable gas and food prices, stop the bleeding real estate market, keep people in their houses, and work on educating our childeren and workers, then fine. I vote for Abama or ANYONE who will be a PRESIDENT FOR AMERICA!

I am very conservative. But I have to say that george Bush is truly a moron. I say this for completely different reasons that liberals do though. If the lib media didnt do everything in it’s power to bring about hippie anti war sentiment from the get go, Bush would have actually used the mightiest military force on the planet the way it was designed to be used and this war would have been over years ago. For you Susan. “What reason did we have to go to war?” Arent you liberals always the ones crying about human rights atrocities. Do you know that Saddam Hussein murdered over 1 million of his own countrymen in the last decade. They were called the kirds. He killed them with serin and mustard gas which we happened to have discovered thousands upon thousands of canisters of theses “weapons of mass murder” upon invading Iraq. George Bush is an idiot. But what is insane is that you libs would rather hate him than the dirty bearded terrorist who would cut your throat and throw you down a well while chanting to allah. These liberal rags like the Washington post regularly show pictures of american soldiers who have been killed to push their agenda. In ww2 if any media outlet did anything like this it would have been shut down pronto and those responsible would have been charged with treason. It’s because of the liberal whining that the Brave soldiers have to consult a manual before shooting back, at an enemy who has no rules, so as to not hurt anyones “feelings” because he might not have recieved enough provocation. Our boys our fighting with their hands behind their backs with insane rules of ingagement that you libs are responsible for and this has coused untold numbers of soldiers to loose their lives. How is that for starters Susan. You libs are speeding down the pathway of good intentions always believing you did everything you could to help. But you’re like a virus that infects the hosts ability to operate like it should.

Some people are placing way to much hope in government to provide answers for our failing society. It boils down to this…America has lost our 1st love (God)and we have placed our confidence in man (government). This is a tragedy!! America, we need to return back to God.

Did you know its not the responsibility of the President to provide jobs. If you have lost your job, the only person to blame is the Democrat Bill Clinton. He is to blame for high taxes, jobs leaving our country when he signed into law NAFTA and CAFTA and he is responsible for the 911 bombing when he failed to take Osama bin Ladin into custody. So quit blaming “W” for whats wrong with America and blame the true source Bill Clinton.

It’s sad that PT Barnum was right: “you can fool all of the people, some of the time…..” We have been told that we should live in a world of equals. Equal health care for all, equal prosperity, equal education, etc, etc. Both parties, but particularly the Dems, talk a great line about equal oportunity. This sort of equality is fictitious, we have been fooled, folks. The advent of Medicare made the Healthcare playing field more level than ever before, and the US still has the best overall system in the world. While there are still problems to be dealth with, there will never be a system that gives equal care to all, no matter how hard you try. There will always be a disenfranchised group. Any student of human nature and history will agree that Jesus was right, “..the poor will always be amoung you..”
So long as we pretend there is a great ‘system’ out there somewhere that will replace ours and make it perfect, we will never focus on the problems that can be fixed. As long as we vote for politicians who promise ..”a car in every garage, a chicken in every pot…”, which cannot ever be delivered, things will not improve.

Everybody wants to blame President Bush for what ailing America. Fact is that he has had to deal with the hand he was dealt from the previous president. The current recession was caused by Bill Clinton when he raised taxes and sign into law both NAFTA and CAFTA into law. This alone built the highway for American jobs to go south and overseas. THe Demacrats have taken more money from the american people that it should be criminal. And he did it in the name of Demacratic socialism.
